Cadillac Dealer near Tacoma WA

There is no Cadillac dealership in Tacoma. If you live in the South Sound and you want to see an Escalade, a LYRIQ or a CT5 in person, you are driving somewhere, and the question is only which direction and how far.
Brotherton Cadillac is in Renton, up I-5 and I-405 from Tacoma, and a good share of our customers make that drive. This page covers what the trip involves, what we keep on the lot, and how we try to make a drive from Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup or Federal Way worth doing once rather than three times.
The Drive from Tacoma
From central Tacoma the usual route is I-5 north to I-405 north at Tukwila, then into Renton. From Puyallup and Sumner, SR-167 north runs almost to our door and is often the better call. From Federal Way, Auburn and Kent you are on the same corridor and closer still.
Outside peak hours it is a straightforward run. Northbound I-5 through Federal Way and Fife backs up badly on weekday mornings, so if you are coming for a test drive, late morning or a Saturday will cost you far less time than 8 AM. Our sales floor is open until 8:00 PM on weekdays, which for a lot of South Sound customers is the easier option after work.
Call before you leave and tell us which vehicle you want to see. We will have it out, charged if it is electric, and ready when you arrive rather than making you wait while someone locates the keys.
What We Stock
Cadillac's range has changed more in the last few years than in the previous twenty, and the showroom now splits roughly into three groups.
The combustion SUVs. Escalade and Escalade ESV at the full-size end, XT6 and XT5 in the middle, XT4 as the compact. This is still where most South Sound buyers start, and the Escalade in particular is the vehicle people drive up from Tacoma specifically to sit in before deciding.
The electric range. LYRIQ, OPTIQ, VISTIQ and ESCALADE IQ. Washington has one of the stronger public charging networks in the country and electricity here is comparatively cheap, which changes the running-cost math against petrol in a way it does not in every state. If you are new to EVs, this is worth a conversation rather than a brochure.
The sedans and V-Series. CT4 and CT5, including the V-Series performance cars. A shrinking part of the market nationally and a reason people travel, because few dealers keep them on the floor.
Buying from Out of Town
Most of the friction in a cross-county purchase is avoidable if it is handled before you drive up.
Get the trade appraised first. Start the appraisal online so you have a working number before you set off. It is the single biggest variable in most deals and the one most likely to turn a visit into a second visit.
Sort financing in advance. Pre-approval takes a few minutes and means you are negotiating on the vehicle rather than on the monthly payment.
Ask for the out-the-door figure in writing. Washington sales tax is calculated on where the vehicle is registered, not where it is sold, so a Tacoma or Pierce County buyer's total will differ from a Renton buyer's on the same car. Ask us to work it out for your address before you commit to anything.
Check what is actually in stock. Specific trims, colors and option packages move. A call or a message saves a wasted trip far more reliably than an inventory page refreshed at midnight.
Service After the Sale
This is the fair objection to buying outside your own city, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a dodge.
Cadillac warranty and recall work has to be done by a Cadillac-certified department, and there is not one in Tacoma. Wherever you buy, that work involves a drive. What we can do is make it infrequent and predictable: our service department is at the same address as the showroom, Cadillac-trained, and we will schedule around a South Sound commute rather than assuming you live five minutes away.
Routine maintenance such as oil changes and tires can be done closer to home at any competent shop without affecting your warranty. It is the factory work that comes to us.

FAQs
Is there a Cadillac dealership in Tacoma?
No. South Sound Cadillac shoppers travel to reach a Cadillac franchise. Brotherton Cadillac in Renton is reached by I-5 north to I-405, or by SR-167 from the Puyallup and Sumner side.
How long is the drive from Tacoma to Renton?
It is a straightforward run outside peak hours. Northbound I-5 through Fife and Federal Way is heavy on weekday mornings, so a late morning, an evening or a Saturday will take considerably less time than the commute window.
Do I pay Renton sales tax if I live in Tacoma?
No. Washington vehicle sales tax is based on where the vehicle is registered rather than where it is purchased, so a Pierce County buyer's total differs from a King County buyer's on the same vehicle. Ask us to calculate the out-the-door figure for your address before you commit.
Where do I get my Cadillac serviced if I live in Tacoma?
Warranty and recall work needs a Cadillac-certified department, and the nearest is in Renton. Routine maintenance such as oil changes and tires can be done at any competent local shop without affecting your factory warranty.
Can you hold a vehicle for me to see?
Yes. Call ahead and we will have it out and ready, charged if it is one of the electric models, so a drive from the South Sound is not spent waiting.
