2019 Cadillac CT6

Cadillac has developed a whole-new V8 engine, one that isn't available from any other vehicle manufacturer. It sits under the hood of the new 2019 CT6 V-Sport. Powertrain specs include a twin-turbo, 4.2L V8 rated at 550 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, 10-speed automatic transmission, all-time all-wheel drive, a custom-stiffened suspension system and a special Track driving mode.

The Track driving mode makes alterations to the all-wheel drive system to change the torque split as well as the stability mapping and suspension firmness. The new V-Sport rides on 20-inch wheels, and the Magnetic Ride Control dampers have been tweaked and recalibrated especially for this model version. There's also a new sport exhaust system that adds to the throaty roar of this exciting new offering from Cadillac. In addition, there's a new limited-slip rear differential that isn't available on the other CT6 trims.

The 2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Sport comes with an interior design that's remarkably similar to the already available Luxury and Sport trims. Note that these trims have been recently renamed and now represent the uplevel versions of this model. Specific to the V-Sport are a newly designed rear-camera mirror, 360-degree monitor, an upgraded infotainment system, enhanced wireless device charging system and an electronic precision shifter system.

The rear camera mirror can tilt and zoom, something that V-Sport drivers will love. The 360-degree monitor has a video recording function that automatically activates if the security system comes on. The pedestrian detection and automatic braking are operable even when the vehicle is backing up. The new infotainment system has a rotary controller and an old-style volume knob, and the new shifter has touch-buttons that are easy to operate.

The 2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Sport comes with standard stability and traction control and a full set of airbags. Additional safety features include forward collision alert, sensor detection of moving vehicles, automatic emergency braking and a rearview camera. Cadillac has yet to announce whether the complete driver assistance package, available on the other top trims, will be standard on the V-Sport. However, the array of sensors on this model version is connected to a variety of response systems. The sensors monitor the speed and direction of other objects and can also detect the distance to those objects.
